We will use free/readily available software employing fast Fourier transforms (FFT) to convert sound waves into a frequency spectrum. This models how our ears work to convert vibrations into electrical signals that our brains interpret and identify as sounds. Participants will learn to apply these concepts to make connections to sounds we hear from music to the dulcet sounds of teachers in Physics classes.
