About me
Matt Reynolds is a Professor of Sociology at the College of Southern Idaho, where he teaches courses in Sociology, Human Relations, Social Problems, and Race and Ethnic Diversity. He is passionate about helping students understand the world around them and, more importantly, how to navigate their own lives within it. Matt encourages students to recognize that they are both actors and acted upon in society, fostering a deeper awareness of the social forces that shape individual experiences and community dynamics.
With a practical approach to teaching, Matt blends discussion and hands-on activities to help students connect course concepts to real-life situations. He focuses on building social awareness, empathy, and critical thinking—skills he believes are essential beyond the classroom. Matt sees his role as supporting students in their individual goals, whether that’s academic success, personal growth, or preparing for future careers, and works to create a learning environment where students feel encouraged to engage with different perspectives and navigate today’s social challenges.
